I've got an 88 that spews gas.  Am I short a ball? ;)

Seriously,  everytime I fill up I get the big kickback of fuel at the end.  But I'm driving an 88 and only last summer I reworked all of my vent lines, etc.  Do you have a cure for this Chris (chris)?  Are you sure the problem is limited to 87 models?
