Subject: directional tires and spare
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Before I spring for a set of Nokian Hakka's I'd like to hear how others with these tires have solved the spare problem (the Hakka's are directional and can't be moved from one side to the other after they are mounted on a wheel). Some suggest mounting the spare to go on the driver's side but what then happens if you need the spare for a passenger-side wheel?

My current plan is to buy only 4 tires and use a non-directional tire on the spare. This is also cheaper than buying 5 Hakka's since I can use one of the Vredestein Transport Snow's that I have in the garage as a spare.

-Mark
