The plastic tube goes to the vapor recovery system for the gas tank. There is a valve with 3 hoses in front of the fire wall. One is that white plastic tube, another small one goes to the throttle valve for control and the other goes to the carbon canister. When the throttle opens, the valve should open and engine vacuum should pull fresh air through the carbon to burn off the vapors contained within. The tube on the bottom of the carbon canister is the inlet vent. Check to make sure the screen hasn't rusted in the canister allowing the carbon to fall out. When this happens, the carbon will block the inlet and if the vent system is tight, fule starvation and a collapsed tank is the result.

Right under the idle stabilizer valve there is a little rubber piece that come up and fits to a port on the Idle Stabilizer Valve. There is a little rubber tit that sticks out off the side of that rubber piece and there is a plastic tube stuck into it. The [;astic tube disappears going forward through the fire wall.

What is that plastic tube for, where does it go, and what is the function of the system that is comprised of that tube and rubber tit. Curious minds want to know!!!
