I have a problem with my 1984 westy and the cascading gas tank. I know I can purchase a reseal kit and solve the problem for a while. I was wondering if anyone knows where you can purchase a new gas tank without the design flaw found in the westy watercooled tanks. I heard that the tank design with the bump was for the air cooled models and vw never changed the design for the watercooled versions (so I read on gowesty.com).


Seems like watercooled owners could change out the tank with a tank without the hump which causes the problem.
