I told the list back in June about my bad temp 2 sensor [ only 2 years old]
Thanks to DigiTool ­ a new sensor from the dealer and a TPS alignment
Got the van running like a top all summer.

The cold mornings this month have brought back the grumpy / lumpy

Start ups and random stalling.


This mornings grumpy / lumpy start up with high idle had Digitool
Giving me the following readings for Temp II:

4.9 with high idle. [ I think 4.9 is way off the normal scale for Temp II]

I remember listees mentioning the wiring for the sensor sometimes going bad
- 

So I opened up the engine lid..


4.9v high idle

4.9v [ wiggling sensor wiring]

4.9v [ sensor disconnected!! ???]

4.9v [ sensor reconnected]

I wait a minute [ van running total of 4 minutes]

And then in 3 seconds the voltage reading goes..[ with the idle following it
up and down]

4.9 ­ 3.2 ­ 3.8 ­ 4.9 ­ 4. 9 ­2.8 ­ 3.5 ­ 2.8 ­ 2. 5 ­ 2.2 ­ 1.9 ­ 1.5 ­ 1.3
[ normal for cold]

And the engine runs fine at that point.



So the Temp II sensor is bad again?? This one is from the dealer and was new
in June!

I made a joke about carrying spares but this is crazy... And why would I
still get a voltage reading

With the sensor plug pulled out??
