Subject: Re: Got dem ole lousy idle blues again, mama

This situation is getting down right strange. After all this,I got an idle after I let the engine cool down. Almost 1200rpm.Atleast I got an idle . Air screw is turned all the way in,minus a hair, so the throttle plate can function. This new used exhaust is so hot,I cannot touch the bumper, after idling for a few minutes.Way too hot. Engine is not overheating, but I havent used the vehicle too much today. Maybe a cat starting to plug up.Seems like my idle would be low if this was the case. What do you think? The engine wont rev past a third of the motion of the throttle plate. But up till then,it runs super.I can get 3 or 4 thousand rpm ,easy. The engine is just doing all thse stuff it was designed for with a third of the throttle. Like, weird me out with a burnt up engine. Im getting lots of noise in the throttle body. Rushing air. Sounds like a massive vaccum leak. This is why I checked the hoses so thoughly, today. This noise goes away when the throttle is reved. The noise continues with the air screw turned in or out.Loud noise.Im going with the plugged cat in the new exhaust.Had one once in a Fairmont. No power. Overheating.Super bad gas mileage. Dont know about the heat. After I replace ther exhaust, again,I will try reinastalling the AFM I have been using for years.Kinda like going in reverse order to find out what is causing all this strange goings on.Roger
