I believe one of the reasons the answers don't appear on the list, is I believe you if you reply, must go click on the vanagon listserve addy, as a cc: another fly in the ointment that too is time consuming as well. Also there is what name to use in your search of the archives, I used every name I could think of for the ignition key assembly and it always came back a zero...? This is especially hard when you are new at the German game, and some key words. I was lucky, someone gave me the exact page in the Bentley to look, 98.4 I believe. It showed one picture... that's it if I recall.

It's just frustrating, it seems the engine this site uses is anti-newbie, and hard top learn... the archives are a whole nother cause of frustration... ? Lyle Lathem 1985 Vanagon GL
