ok, so maybe its a pipe dream.. :<)

im looking for a NON-CHROME steel german rear bumper - black painted (actually i dont care what color the paint now is, but these were always originally black) - with the rubber trim strip holes in it...in very nice conditon...(minor dings and rust ok..but nothing that has been backed into a pole, etc)

these are the rear bumpers that came on the 90-91 NON-GL passenger vanagons..

so you say..chris...why dont you just buy a new rear plack painted steel bumper from one of the online vendors for $90?

well i did.. and the quality is not the same as OEM. first off, there are no trim strip holes - which is no biggie - i can drill them - but the big problem is the thickness of the metal. the aftermarket bumpers are thinner gauge steel. normally this wouldnt be a problem, but i need this for my Doka... and i often stand on the rear bumper to get into the truck bed (easier than unlatching the tailgate and using the tailgate step) and repeated stepping on the aftermarket bumper will make it wavy-gravy as the metal is not as strong as OEM..

so....if anyone out there has a nice black painted metal rear bumper from a 90-91 non-GL..let me know.. some 84 GL's also used the black painted bumpers with trim strips...i had one that did..

thanks chris
