It's just as likely that your key(s) have worn to the point that they are the major problem. Cutting new keys from a worn key just gives you another "Worn" key. That was certainly the problem with my '85. Getting the hatch unlocked with the worn keys was an exercise in frustration.

I had Steve Sandlin (Steve's Lockshop) "Code" cut a new key which restored proper operation to all my locks.

Just about any registered locksmith should be able to code cut a key for you. The easy way to get the number is to remove the driver's door handle and read the code from one of the tines of the "fork".
