welcome to vanagon ownership!    you are now an official vanagon owner that
youve  christened your sliding door's aft-end on the 3 foot tall posts that
surround the gas pumps!     you now join the ranks of all the other vanagon
owners who have done the same thing, forgetting they are sitting on TOP of the
front wheels.

dont feel bad, 9 out of 10 vanagons have a bashed in aft-end on the sliding
door and crunched RR wheel arch done the same way..
so what color was the post?  bright yellow? flourescent orange?  does your
vanagon sport new bright orange stripes on the sliding door now? :<)
 just raggin ya..  :<)

as for sliders, i have a few good sliding doors here.. the rest of them have
damage from  3 foot high gas pump poles.   :<)
since you have an 86, you have to use one from a 85-91.     anyway, depends
on how band the damage is.. it might be able to be fixed..  you have to
remember with replacement, youll have to paint the whole door, inside and out..

 ps, i have westy interiors as well, but OR is a hike from here :<)
