It is interesting that there are potentially many bass players on this list.

I have been playing for,, hmmm, close to 15 years? I spent years gigging many times a week. Have had a lot of fun and made some decent money. Just like most bass players I am a bit of a gearhead and have been through lots of rigs. Among other rigs I keep a travelling rig in the van that includes an ampeg bass-bus battery powered amp.

I mention this rig because if you live in/camp in your bus and are a bass player, I doubt that there is a more van-friendly rig out there. It will plug in to a cigarette lighter outlet, ac outlet (inverter) or run of it's own battery for hours. It fits behind the passenger seat perfectly etc.. here is a link to one, though it looks like it has been discontinued at this site:
