Hi Steve,

Yes, you will have to remove the door panel, and then think small. At the bottom of the vent window pivot (inside the door), is a "clamp" of sheet steel, folded around the pivit. It is tensioned by a screw (can't remember if straight slot or Phillips style right now), but it is very tight in there. Tightening the screw (I hope it is still there) increases the friction, thereby keeping the window where you set it.

Last time I had the problem, the screw had backed out and was laying in the bottom of the door.

If I remember correctly, you will need a right angle acrewdriver to get at it.
