Go Subaru... i would! get rid of the VW part and keep the Westfalia part!!! Check Hans site at: http://www.vanaru.com/ I have studied is conversion kit, i have driven one... i think it's one of the best "kit" on the market now. 3k for a rebuilt is way to cheap, something is WRONG!!! It's IMPOSSIBLE to do a full rebuilt for 3K install, something is wrong, are they using NEW heads? cam, crank??? what about the FI parts, is it check, re-seal... and the cooling part of the van, will it be upgrade?? 2 heads are +-1100$ + pistons & cylinders +-450$, cam & crank + line bore + bearing 2000$ + labor + a re-seal kit... ++++++++ 6000 to 7000 sound more like a very good rebuilt! Regards, Ben http://www.benplace.com/gilles/gilles47.jpg (that is a 4500$ job, i didn't touch the core and only new rings were added, new AMC heads) |
