Well, I would wager that there are more VW buses in California than all of the UK. If someone could do a West Coast meet, it will probably easily rival if not trump the UK Vanfest. I'm just not sure how cohesive the VW bus owners are here along the series lines. Most Splittie guys split off the Bay guys. The Bay guys keep the Vanago gus at bay except for the early aircooleds. Then there's the waterboxer contingent who don't give the aircooled anything guys room to breath. If someone wants to devote some time to get these guys to cross their respective groups to form a larger whole, I'm sure a centralized West Coast location can be identified easy enough. All it takes is time a money. Mike? You're retired. Wanna take this on? We have the LiMBO guys on this list as well. Jim? Not sure about the SOTO guys. BenT |
