Wow... what a bummer... that's like ordering on-line for specialty items and returning them... only to find you get instore credit and the company does not make anything worth buying!! The problem is $150 may not be enough... or it may be too much. Then there's the time to remove the part. Here's what I'd look for... Set of 15 inch rims for future mounting, rear hatch struts gas cap air conditioning parts windshield wiper motor plastic vent pieces, like the ones on the left and right side of the dashboard things you can sell on ebay (you might not need it but it could be popular) Raffle it off on the vanagon.com list!!! The money could go to the helper pot that just got depleated... I'd buy a ticket. And the wrecking-yard guy had verbally assured us we could return it if it wasn't suitable. Yeah, right. We can return it only for wrecking-yard credit. So, we need to do something with our $150 or so wrecking-yard credit. Can anyone suggest some "must have" spare parts that we should go down and pick up while the pickins' are good? The yard has at least one 87 Vanagon parted out, but it isn't a Westy so we'd probably be thinking about Vanagon rather than about Westy parts.
