i was thinking about having a get informal get together here in Allentown,
PA
(southeast PA) for anyone who can make it...maybe sometime mid-late october?
  there is a really nice park across the jordan creek from my parents farm -
with a large paved parking lot...  swingsets for those of you with kids,
racquetball and volleyball courts, fishing or canoeing/kayaking in the
creek, 2
historic covered bridges from the early 1800's, nature trails,  BBQ grills,
picnic tables, baseball fields, covered pavillions and restrooms. etc..
the park
is open 7am to 12midnite..  so theres no overnight camping, it would just be
a
day trip..    everyone could bring something to eat and we could have a big
potluck and BBQ..
im thinking it would be a great way for the local mid atlantic vanagon
enthusiasts to get together and check out eachothers rides and get to know
eachother..maybe even do some parts swapping if you have something you want
to unload
or are looking for.

there is a local vw watercooled car group (mostly GTI kids) that im part of
and we meet at the same park, and its a good venue for that..

what does everyone think?
post it up to the list if youre interested in doing something like this and
we can all agree on a date..

allentown is right off of I-78 and like 45 mins north of philly. im about 20
mins give or take from BusDepot if that give you an idea..
