rest your forearms on the part of the cover that is closest to you, then use your fingertips and pull up. your forearms will put pressure on the cover so it will pivot up...and wont break the interlocking "teeth" under the bottom of the cover..

once it comes off, id carefully bend the metal tabs so its not as hard to remove next time.. a difficult to remove cover can result in broken cluster mounting tabs.. (BTDT)
