I bought the 86 Vanagon about a month ago. It had a bad clutch and a
number of small problems.
I installed a new clutch, t.o. bearing and pressure plate. The van
runs and drives fine. It has 5 new
tires and is rust free as it lived in Florida until 2004. The paint
is decent Gold color. It only has 84k
miles on the odometer. All the glass is good.

The downside is the interior. The Florida sun did its damage to the
dash padding. The center seats
and carpeting are gone. The rear seat and cargo area carpet are OK.
The overhead ductwork that
goes down the center for the AC is not installed and the AC is all
there but does not work. The inner
door panel on the slider is missing.

The van can be driven as is or restored with a bit of work on the
interior. Or convert to a camper.
