;) And, again to clarify for everyone (since I was not clear), diesel Vanagon were only available in the US for the 1982 and 1983 *model* years. Yup, two years and that was it.

Why? They powered them with wimpy 1.6 engines that do fine in a rabbit, but not a heavy Vanagon. That's why I upgraded to a 1.9 diesel.
