As I've said before, I hit my upper control arm bushings about once a year with silicone spray to keep the squeaking away. I've done this for a number of years without any apparent detriment.

My present can was purchased at a True Value hardware store and is "Snap" branded. They say (about themselves, of course) "Stops squeaks & sticking". "For use on autos & boats, home, garden, workshop".

Under Automotive Use they say:

"Will stop freezing of trunk lids, doors, and locks, it will also waterproof ignition systems, silence door hinges, lubricate rubber mountings and repel water".

Works for me.
