Works best when the engine block and heads have been well flushed, leaving no trapped air products. The viscosity is higher and the coolant has the appropriate water pump lubrication. The lack of cavitation phenomena are a serious advantage. Operating at a higher net temperature is well within the design envelope of modern european engines. I modified the cooling system for my 2.0L Audi turbo install as per instructions from their chief engineer and made an elevated bleed fill point. Biggest issue is running at zero net pressure (psig) and taking into account the thermal expansion of the liquid. Small impact on system flow as the water pump is not working against the same head pressure. Fully degasified (about a week of running) gives impressive results. I continued to bleed the system for about 2 months every other weekend. Anyway, not snakeoil, but real hydraulic and thermal engineering! Frank Grunthaner |
