That's funny Ken! They've been mandatory up here since the mid-eighties, and one of the first things I do with a new used car is disable the darn things. The system makes it so that you can't effectively communicate with your headlamps via the light switch or the high beam stalk. Its a binary system and without 0, 1 is meaningless. I mean suit yourself, that's just the way it looks to me.
