I have an '86 GL Automatic and I'm getting some serious idleing speed noise from the torque converter area... Details... No serious leaks in transaxle (only minor seepage, no drips) torque converter is dry and not leaking. fluids OK trans shifts fine, and engine pulls strong Question... Cold I have a pinion bearing bad? When I remove the 3 torque plate bolts and spin the TC it spins fine but has some axial play. is there a bearing in the Torq Converter? is there a pilot bearing in the flex plate, or bushing loose? How is the converter supported from the center or from the edges? -- Best Regards, ~david |
