Same place I heard about it. The guy is Mark Dearing, whose opinion I value. He said they had a van that needed heads done and had nothing to lose on it, so they tried the Subaru stuff. It stopped leaking and years later, still no leaks. He also said that Subaru is coy about the purpose of the stuff, and you can't ask for "leaky head gasket fixer", you have to ask for cooling system conditioner. And also, they will supposedly only sell it for use on Subarus. So be prepared to say you have a 2004 outback.
