This item maybe called a xmas Tree or Klecko. if it is a cap over a screw then a small screw driver or knife blade would have done the trick. If a Klecko or xmas tree you can get behind the panel. I have xmas Tree pliers that work for the job but what you want to do is pry the panel off fairly straight. Use a rag between the door and a beefy screw driver and try to get the tip of the screw driver to touch the Klecko. Then Pry it off trying not to break, Bend or scratch or hurt anything. c-ya Jonce I cant tell what fastener you have without looking at it but those are the 2 most common.
