If you read carefully, this document is a slightly exaggerated sales pitch. Note that many of the comparisons are to Standard starting, lighting, ignition (SLI) batteries, not true deep cycle. The discharge ratings are for 10 hours, not 5. The discharge voltage is 10.2, not 10.5 volts, etc.

And what is the warranty?

Dennis

But Hawker claims an Odessey can be discharged essentially to zero and recharged many times. Other batteries was a maximun discharge of 50%.

See: http://www.odysseyfactory.com/documents/US-ODY-AM-001_0406.pdf on page 10 for a German DIN test.

I switched from an Interstate starting battery to an Odessey last winter because after a couple year's use, the starting battery just couldn't deliver many amps. I haven't had any troubles with the Odessey, but only have 4-5 trips of experience so far. This is for my aux battery. You can also use an Odessey as a starting AND deep cycle battery, similar to the Optima Yellowtop.
