That can't happen Gary. Even if all the rubber vaporizes due to cosmic rays or reefer madness or aliens the steel still encircles the pivot and will retain the control arm.

But I agree with Alistair entirely - if they are worn, replace them.

My new ones have not sqeaked on either van.
