Well, Jake, I admit it wasn't in a VW, but yes, the left front A-frame dropped out of my $175 '83 Isuzu at speed. Interesting you brought up aliens - - I'm only about 85 miles from Area 51, but I think the more likely cause was my own personal "bozone layer" (Jeez, Gary, what is that horrible racket coming from under your car? Oh, nothing a little WD-40 won't take care of!). Yep, once you wear enough of the steel off, it will indeed fall out!

So, making an already too long story short, replace those squeeky front end parts!
