Subject: Friday trip planning

As I read the post from Paul tonight about his drive across the country I thought about all the other trip ideas (up in Canada and down to Mexico) being talked about on the list. I was thinking about the trip up to the Arctic circle that was done a few years back on the 'old' list. Lot's of good trips! I thought about all the get-to-gethers, campouts and assorted meets that have been happening all over the country and are talked about on this list.

It would be neat to put a trip together, starting in say the spring and running thru the fall that takes you to as many of the VW get-to-gethers as was (sanely) possible. Be a heck of trip in a Vanagon... Kind of like a Deadhead following the band.

This IS a Friday post. There are really too many other things on my "trip" list before I get to this one and I'm at least 4 years away from the last kid finishing high school. Maybe I could fit some profesional BBQ cook offs, a shuttle launch, the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Key West AND some VW gatherings into one trip?
