How much extra fuel would you gain? I don't have a tank handy to measure and do the math for a rough guess.

As to the rest of this 'discussion' new tanks are not that spendy (as long as you have the extra $150) & welding on fuel tanks is a normal thing. But who would want to pull their tank to do this and then find out it didn't work?
