I just got back from a weekend at Tim's Ford State Park in Tennessee. Fresh in my memory because it stormed saturday night are: a plastic tub with lid for storing stuff outside or inside the van something to wipe your feet on (stow it in the luggage rack up top) electrical and water hookups, with a flexible adapter thing to fill your water tank. One of those cool ventilator fans at the coleman store Some of those press-on-press-off led stick-on lights for cabinet and pantry interiors Tow strap and folding shovel Latex gloves Bentley manual and small tool set collection of small nalgene containers (Coleman store) so you don't have to carry full-size containers of condiments (you'll be sooooo glad you did) and no glass on board Inverter, power strip and chargers for everything you're going to carry. A behind-the-seat fabric carryall thing that hangs from the rear of the front passenger seat Some 1 x 8 boards of varying lengths to level the camper with if the site isn't level Porta potty less than 13 inches tall so it will slide up under the seat when it extended as a bed. Plenty of flashlights and maybe a gas lantern and spare mantles, which tend to break banging around in a westy closet.
I think this is the basic kit. I didn't go into the obviously more expensive and maybe technical items like GPS, awning, heater, screen room, shower, etc. Jim
