My black rubber gasket (that goes against the van) has an egg shaped cutout in the middle and that must orient to the flue and on my van that faces towards the front of the van. The flat circular disk that had 2 flat parts cut off the perimeter, the flat parts are oriented top and bottom. The rest of it doesn't matter as far as I know. m
