Greetings, My new GoWesty 2.2 engine has arrived; transplant pending (91 Westy, AT, 137,000 miles). Also the transmission is to be removed and various seals and cooler replaced. My questions: 1) Is it better/easier to remove the engine/transmission as a unit from underneath the van or from the top using a engine hoist. 2) Remove them as separate units? My facilities include a drive over pit, however I lack a tall transmission jack. Any other tips are appreciated. Thanks in advance for everyone's advice. Cheers, Chris H 91 Westy "Arkle" |
