Probably my favorite camping accessory is the wooden 'pantry box' I built. It's got a hinged lid and a couple of sturdy carrying handles screwed to the sides. It usually sits just aft of my passenger seat, so it works as a footrest when the passenger seat is swivelled around to face the rear. This also puts it right at the door, so I can get at the stuff I need throughout the day without climbing all the way into the camper. I've always envied the storage bins on the inside of the side doors of the splittie campers; this gives me a lot of that benefit. I can easily load all my non-refrigerated foods for a weekend in there, and carry that stuff in/out of the camper in one shot (thus preventing me from keeping food in the westie cabinets to get too old or attract mice between campouts).
