 Howdy, Volks!


First off, I feel obligated to thank the many list members who have offered
advice on where to look for my next family member this week.

I think we'd all agree that our love of the Vanagon has a lot to do with the
sense of community, and that has been reinforced repeatedly for me in my few
days back on the list.


NOW - as I'm conducting my search, it is becoming increasingly clear that in
order to find a van in decent shape, I will most likely need to have it
shipped to me in the midwest.

Here's the deal - I have never shipped a vehicle before, and as such have NO
IDEA where to start.

I am understanding that basic shipping costs are around $1.50/mile.

Sound about right?

Can anyone suggest a shipper that they've had good experiences with?

ALSO-
Is it considered improper etiquette to post information on vans that I am
considering to get other (more knowledgable) list members' feedback?

There is one in particular that I am considering, but I don't want to be
rude and just post willy-nilly.
