That's not being a mass-media luddite. I am a mass-media luddite. I have never owned a television, VCR, DVD, one of those little music-playing things - an IPOD, yes? - or even a stereo. Of course I've never had cable because what would I use it for?

I am, however, addicted to public radio, so I do have plenty of radios - ones for the house, the van, portable ones, ones in each room so I can hear the news in stereo. And in Canada, I become addicted to CBC-1. Gotta get some intelligent info somewhere! I own a few DVDs, too, which I've been known to watch on my laptop, albeit rarely.
