One of the accessories for camping I have included in my VW camping arsenal came via the list from, I believe Malcolm Stebbins some time ago now, but it bears repeating as I have found it to be a very useful thingy.

Cut the bottom from a plastic milk crate (or two) and use as an all-weather doormat/shoe cleaner on the ground outside the sliding door of your van. I find it particularly useful when on skiing trips in the van. The only reason you'll ever need to replace it is if some bastard pinches it when they see what a good idea it is. I chose a blue crate so it even kinda matches my van....;-)

Anyway, props to Mr Stebbins for the original suggestion. It is simple, durable, cheap and very effective. All the hallmarks that us VW community generally appreciate...:-)
