> Anyone try the Coleman Camping Oven on top of their Westfalia's stovetop? For those who don't know, it's a foldable metal box (that packs small) that opens up and has a temp dial on the door. It has a grill inside for stuff to lie on.

I used to use one on my old Coleman stove when I camped in my (non-Westy) '81. I loved to buy frozen lasagna and bake it in the oven.... The Coleman stove/oven was set up on the campground picnic table. Then I got a Westy....

Anyway, I pulled it out and looked at it and looked at the Westy stove--and lid--and put it away. It gets way too hot to use inside the van and it is too big for the stovetop. Trying to use it would be inviting big trouble. :-(

So I got a backpacking oven that I use sometimes, but not enough to justify the price....
