When a friend of mine moved to SF from the east coast she had her sister drive her car and she drove a rented cube van with her apartment full of furniture in it. The gas and rental were cheaper than shipping or moving company and then she had to fly her sister back.

Got a friend or relatively willing to make the drive with you?
