Subject: timing mark on a 1.9 wbx DH block
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hey list, I am checking the timing on my van and have some questions. With the stabilizer disconnected and the leads hooked together the "v" mark is about 5 degrees left of the split in the case when the motor is idling. Is left before or after TDC? The pulley on the motor does not look exactly like the pulley for the 1.9 wbx in Bentley. The pulley has the v shaped groove on the side near the block and a u shaped groove on the side away from the block. Do I have a replacement pulley? Should the v shaped groove line up with the split at idle? The motor seems to run well when warm but there is a hesitation between 2500 and 3000 RPMs when the engine is warming up. The plugs, cap , rotor and wire are new. Is it possible that the advance is sticking? The timing mark seems to move smoothly when the RPMs are increased. George '85 Westfalia
