The V is the timing mark for setting the timing and should line up with the case split, however it seems that your timing is set 5 degrees more, which is the only way mine will run. Mine won't even run with the V on the split. The distributor mark is lined up as well to it....go figure. The U shaped one is for TDC and is 5 degrees off from the V.

The pulley on the motor does not look exactly like the pulley for the 1.9 wbx in Bentley.  The pulley has the v shaped groove on the side near the block and a u shaped groove on the side away from the block.  Do I have a replacement pulley? Should the v shaped groove line up with the split at idle?
The motor seems to run well when warm but there is a hesitation between 2500 and 3000 RPMs when the engine is warming up.  The plugs, cap , rotor and wire are new.  Is it possible that the advance is sticking?  The timing mark seems to move smoothly when the RPMs are increased.
