Gary, the factory bullbars on my Tristar are attached underneath to various bolts in the body on either side of where the spare tire would fit. It then comes up in front of the bumper.

Of course, a previous owner must have hit something as the wrap around portion on the passenger side is bent in slightly. still it isn't hitting any sheet metal.
