Hi Mark,

Thanks so much for your kind comments.

As a matter of fact, your prior writings and opinions (in the archives) regarding this sort of swap influenced me to follow this course of action. So, without knowing it, you convinced me to try to do it this way.

Your comments about family participation are spot on. It would have never happened without my wife and children acting as cheerleaders, and pitching in to help. It just would not have happened.

Having said that, even with all the work, it was exhilarating, sometimes mind bending, and fun to do. I learned a lot. Vanagon ownership and maintenance can be a family affair!

You have helped me many times in the past. For instance, I sourced the control power for my refrigerator relay from the rear window defogger supply circuit to accommodate the Subaru engine conversion. I just wouldn't have thought of that. You are always a great helpful guy on the list, sharing the best of your knowledge with others.

I think that you once replied to me, "What else is this list for?", when I thanked you for a response to a problem I was having. You are one of the people who epitomize the best of what this list should be.

Thanks again,

Dave
