see what i did here: http://www.members.shaw.ca/albell/mods5.html its worked out quite well, mind you after 6 or so years of camping the ply is stained and worn in places. I wanted to use cork flooring, but didn't get around to it. The rubber mat on top is a very good thing. Easy on the knees when you kneel in to van to get something.
