You don't mention what year your Westy is, and so far the recommendations have addressed the late model pump. If you have an early Westy with the pump under the sink, your idea of "throw the hose ... into the smaller tank..." should work just fine. The trick with ALL water pumps, whether in a Westy or in the ground in the back yard, is that water pumps push much better than they pull. So yes, it is partially gravity fed. Jim
