I recall a thread recently about power steering units and their relative quality and availability. I'd like some opinions about them. Both boots on my unit are split apart and one side has a bit of fluid resting in it. I believe the boots broke down from being soaked in fluid for a long time, indicating a leak. The unit otherwise functions properly. The question is do I replace seals on th existing unit or do I get a rebuilt (if available) and just renew the whole lot. I need to correct the boots simply to pass inspection but I wasn't planning to spend the money on a replacement. Is the rebuild/seals kit a dealer item or an aftermarket deal? cheers, mordo |
