Thanks Tom and Rob, I visited Absolute German Autowrecking in South Seattle today and got the door latch mechanism I was looking for. They charged me $20 which seemed decent enough, esp considering it took them about 20 minutes to pull it off the donor. Interesting operation they have, it's on a small lot, not a huge quantity of vehicles, but they had 4 Vanagons. (Two of these were destroyed by fire and are quite an ugly sight.) Other VW models were present as well as Audi and Porsche. Nice people, great business, very efficient and clean operation--sort of a junkyard of the future it seemed. I highly recommend them if you live in or near Seattle. -Mark
