Subject: Re: oil pressure problems,still

Subaru sandwich plate you nit wit. Comes with pickle. Only mine was $39.Not $69. Slightly different, but does the same thing.Bare aluminum. Not that blue stuff.Check that ebay item number I gave for the lo down on it.At this point I dont care too much about accurate oil pressure. Just need a switch of somekind.I have heard that when the oil light comes on in the Vanagon, while driving, the threshold for the pressure light is set so low that the damage has already been done, anyway. If the threads are bad in my engine case,it happened by overtightening. Not corrosion of dissimilar metals,or such.Like the auxillary air regulator is in the 1.9 engine case,or thermistat housing. To damage the case, just got to turn the switch a half turn too much and you are done. Results become apparent when the switch is removed much later.I do hope it never happens to you. What would you do if it did? Probably not remove another one if it was importiant.
