I have used Krylon Fusion which is a paint FOR plastics as well as other
"Hard to paint" surfaces. It is available in gloss as well as satin and
their satin black is great on plastic grilles, mirrors, and utility
ports. I'm going to try it on my door handles, too ... but just haven't
yet.
They also have a brown called Espresso which looks like it might be a
close match to the interior brown in vanagons. Their satin espresso is
number 2436.
I painted my westy's utility ports with it and it has weathered 2
winters and 2 summers and still looks like it was just applied.
