Bus Depot shows quite a few numbers on their site that have been obsoleted at VAG. Whether or not new old stock (NOS) is actually still available is another matter and I'm sure Ron is combing the European warehouses for inventory. I have attempted to obtain the 251 201 139B from both VAG North America & Europe and so far there are no more in stock ANYWHERE. Several additional inquiries to European contacts have been fruitless as well. At VWG/Airhead we would like to repro this piece, but without a viable NOS sample, we're just pissin' into the wind ;-)

Repros of the 139 and 139A are in the prototype stage.

In reviewing several VAG Fiche and ETKA to repro certain items, I can truthfully say I have never seen a parts group area as confusing as the way VAG presents the fuel tank and filler replacement parts configuration. From 80 thru 86, there are so many original tank and filler configurations along with numerous supersessions I honestly wonder how VW stays in business, especially in providing replacement parts. The parts counterperson, even those with decent experience would be totally baffled. -- Jim Thompson 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com ********************************** On 10/9/06, Sam Walters <sam.cooks@verizon.net> wrote: > > Looking at the Bus Depot web site shows that the 251 201 139A was the > grommet for the 50mm filler tank used from 85-91 and probably for > California models 80 and after.
